Munoz Homecoming | Oceana Naval Base | Virginia Beach

Homecomings will forever hold a special place in my heart. And they will probably forever make me cry! This one was especially tough.

This sweet lady contacted me back in July 2019 for her husband's October homecoming to Norfolk, VA. We got all booked and knew that the date could fluctuate of course because its the military and that's how it works. But we didn't realize how much that would be true at the time.

He was serving on the USS Lincoln, which made headlines for being days away from breaking deployment longevity records. January 14, 2020. Over three months after he was supposed to return home, he stepped off the airplane at Oceana. Over nine months apart. 289 days.

These moments speak for themselves.
